Beautiful location to go backpacking fairly close to Chattanooga. EASY, SHORT, AND very nice hiking! Really nice trails for Sabbath afternoon hiking. Since it is near the lake it has a good water source. There is a clearing that tents can be set up in and a wooded section right beside it for those hammocking.

We will backpack in on Friday (about 1-1.5 miles), set up camp for the weekend, have church and Sabbath School, have a nice hike after lunch, vespers around a bonfire in the evening, and then pack out Sunday morning. Sound nice?

If you have never been backpacking before or want to learn how to do it better this is a great opportunity! We will have a backpacking class prior to leaving to give tips and tricks on how to do this.
